The sacred flames reignite: the Swiss-German quartet VÍGLJÓS unveiled their second opus two weeks ago, Tome II : ignis sacer, following Tome I: Apidæ.

Inspired by medieval ergotism — the fungal poisoning by Claviceps that unbalanced societies and minds — the album explores the blurred boundary between hallucination, devotion, and decay.
Forged in the icy tradition of the Norwegian second wave, VÍGLJÓS blends razor-sharp tremolos, rock’n’roll pulses, and spectral Mellotron layers for a total experience: sonic, visual, and olfactory. Recorded at Hutch Sounds by Marc Obrist (Zeal & Ardor), Ignis Sacer plunges into the heart of black fire — a cycle of seed, rot, and rebirth.

COLD. RUTHLESS. ABSOLUTE.
